Netlog Logistics Manages Entire Supply Chain for SHELL Market Operations

SHELL Marketlerinin Tüm Tedarik Süreci “Netlog Lojistik” Yönetiminde!

Netlog Logistics has entered into a new agreement with SHELL, a leading global energy company, to handle the entire supply chain for SHELL’s market operations at fuel stations in Turkey. This project, which became operational in August 2014 after extensive preliminary work, now sees Netlog managing the supply, storage, distribution, and returns collection for products sold at SHELL-operated fuel stations.

SHELL operates nearly 1,000 fuel stations across Turkey, including in major cities like Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Izmir, Samsun, Gaziantep, and Antalya. Netlog is responsible for the supply, storage, distribution, and returns management of products sold in these stations' markets.

The project, named "NetShell," includes online data transfer, daily demand forecasting, order suggestions, and web-based order tracking.

Uygar Uşar, General Manager of Domestic Transportation and Distribution at Netlog Logistics Group, explained that this initiative is a first in Turkey. “The entire IT infrastructure, distribution setup, and storage infrastructure for this project have been completed and implemented,” Uşar said. He noted that Netlog manages the entire supply chain, from procurement and storage to distribution and returns, for SHELL's market needs.

Initially launched with selected markets, the pilot phase quickly expanded to include nearly 50 stations. The project aims to reach 100 markets in the first phase. This innovative system, which includes automated stock replenishment and order creation, is a first for Turkey and was developed based on similar models observed in Europe.

Uşar highlighted that the system will streamline stock and order management, eliminating the need to deal with multiple suppliers individually. Instead, Netlog will manage the entire process, providing a more efficient and rational solution for SHELL. This will lead to significant savings in terms of time, labor, and operational efficiency while improving traceability and accountability for SHELL's market operations.
